COVID-19 UPDATE
Valued Customer,
As the COVID-19 public health crisis continues to impact our daily lives, we here at Fort Collins Tree Care would like to take the time to update you on how recent events will be affecting our operations and the care of your landscape plants.
On Wednesday March 25th, Governor Jared Polis issued a state wide Stay-at-Home order which requires all Colorado residents to remain at home unless they are performing tasks essential to personal or family health. Within in the executive order, there are exceptions for what is to be considered “essential” or “critical” business.
The two leading agencies in arboriculture, The Tree Care Industry Association (TCIA) & The International Society of Arboriculture (ISA) have released a statement outlining which services are to qualify under the scope of “essential business”. As per definition of the TCIA and ISA, services which fall under the categories of Protection of Infrastructure, Maintenance of Public Safety, or Protection Against Invasive/Injurious Pests shall remain active at this time to best protect against loss or damage of property.
The following services have been identified as essential activities and will remain available to you during this time:
- Hazard tree removal
- Pruning of dead, dying, or dangerous limbs
- Treatment of damaging pests and diseases
- Right of way safety clearance
- Cabling and bracing of hazardous limbs
- Mitigation of storm damage
- Emergency response services
- Assessments of hazardous trees or pest/disease issues
For those of you currently enrolled in Plant Health Care programs, treatments for invasive and wood boring pests will continue to be performed on schedule as they have been identified to be essential in the preservation and health management of your plants. This includes treatments for the Emerald Ash Borer. Likewise, disease management will continue as scheduled to prevent the rapid damage and deterioration of susceptible plant species.
During these unprecedented times it is our goal to continue to serve you with the same quality service while simultaneously complying with all legal and social advisories. The scheduling of all essential services will be communicated by phone prior to arriving at any property. Likewise, to limit social interactions and comply with social distancing, we are asking that employees do not come to your door prior to engaging in essential activity. If communication with our staff is necessary, please only engage with the project foreman while maintaining a 6 ft. separation to comply with distancing orders.
While the outbreak of COVID-19 has left us all with many unanswered questions, we here at Fort Collins Tree Care will continue to serve as a resource for all your tree care needs. We will continue to monitor the situation and keep you updated as more information becomes available to us. We appreciate your continued support and business through these trying times. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any questions you may have about your current accounts or tree care needs.
Sincerely,
Fort Collins Tree Care
